Release of the Scarlet Macaw in the Copán Valley



If you happen to be in Copán Ruinas on Friday September 27th, then don’t miss this great opportunity! At 8.00am, the third release of the scarlet macaw will take place at the archaeological site. The release of the macaw, important symbol to the ancient Maya, is an initiative by Guaras en Libertad, a project that promotes the preservation of the scarlet macaw in the Copán Valley. It’s a truly breathtaking experience to see the macaws spread their wings and fly over ancient Maya pyramids and temples. Don’t miss it!

Guaras en Libertad is an initiative of Macaw Mountain nature reserve and the Copán Association.
